I'm a Kickstarter, a terrific Kickstarter..

Forget the Dragons’ Den. The adventurous entrepreneurs out there looking to fund or project-test a new idea or product should take a look at the Kickstarter website. The concept is straightforward – you build your project pages and attract feedback and potential funders. Crowdfunding not just crowdsourcing!

As the website states: “If the project succeeds in reaching its funding goal all backers’ credit cards are charged when time expires. If the project falls short no one is charged.”

So, if you are willing to expose your idea to the world (remember, if it is on the Net, it is out there in the open, make sure you read the Terms of Use) have a look: Kickstarter website

Great new online resource for Low Carbon innovators

West Midlands companies looking for partners or funding for any low carbon initiatives they are planning,  should check out this new online resource: www.lowcarbonfunding.org.uk. It is intended to  be "particularly valuable to smaller technology companies who struggle to keep up to speed with the myriad of support mechanisms in the UK."

This is part of a package of funding announced this week by the Department of Energy & Climate Change, which also includes: £35m for an Energy Entrepreneurs Fund and a £3m competition for heat storage innovation.  More here
